FORT WORTH ROOF TERRACE

Location: Fort Worth, Texas

Architect: VLK Architects

Photographer: Chad Davis, AIA

LuM Lighting Design worked with VLK Architects to design the lighting for a roof terrace used for entertaining, gazing at the cityscape and putting practice atop the landmark Neil P. Anderson Building. The program included creating an engaging series of spaces for entertaining and private enjoyment on the rooftop. Entering the rooftop, guests emerge under the building’s original water tank and are immediately greeted by the unique chandelier conceptualized by the owner and built on-site. On a ceiling-mounted stainless steel plate is a to-scale plan of Fort Worth with the high-rise buildings illuminated as to-scale acrylic tubes creating a multi-tiered color-changing centerpiece to the entry sequence. The central circular bar has illuminated front panels and the many terraced zones are delineated by steps outlined with LED strip lighting. Festival lights anchor a cabana zone and the putting green is illuminated with floodlights mounted discretely to building elements.
