LuM Lighting Design worked with the Dallas-office of architect and interior designer, Perkins&Will, on this extensive renovation, restoration and addition to a Bud Oglesby designed residence built in the 1970’s. The residence, located on a 2 acres creek lot with rolling topography, was expanded to approximately 12,000 SF. Collaborating with the architect, interior designer and owners who are passionate about design, quality and art, the residence became a series of living spaces connected by expansive glass viewing galleries to exterior courtyards and inward to special art pieces. The exterior courtyards include an arrival courtyard, motor court, breakfast courtyard off the kitchen, cigar court off the library, gallery court, lower level pool loggia and terrace with an infinity edge. Exterior lighting is important for bringing to life the outdoor art installations. The simple yet elegant details throughout the interior were executed perfectly. The lighting integrates seamlessly and compliments the abundant daylight while highlighting finishes, furniture and works of art in dramatic fashion after dark, yet enhances livable family-oriented spaces.
