Working with Perkins&Will (formerly Lauckgroup), LuM Lighting Design was awarded an IES Illumination Design Award for this cafe on the ground-level of One Legacy West Tower was a challenging 70' long, 25' narrow, 28' high space, flooded with daylight.  Taking cues from nature, the ceiling design is faceted like an uncut geode. 

 For aesthetic purity, the lighting design intent was to have zero penetrations in the geode ceiling. Soaring heights, uninterrupted lines and unique geometries reflected in the monumental glass on two walls of the cafe expand the space visually.  Control system sensors balance electric and day-light, turning off many lighting elements during daylight hours.  Pre-set dimming scenes are used for morning and evening events.
